Cartoons and Comics Go Gay for LGBT Rights

By: Brandon Voss

Minnie Mouse making out with Daisy Duck? Smurfette smooching some bizarro world brunette Smurfette? Whatever the world's coming to, we totally support it!

Comics and cartoon slash fiction became visualized at a recent march for LGBT rights in Angoulême, France, which is home of the upcoming Angoulême International Comics Festival (Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême), a four-day fair and Europe's largest comic festival now in its 40th year. During the march, a truck representing the festival was cleverly festooned with banners featuring same-sex character pairings like Asterix kissing Obelisk and Tintin kissing Captain Haddock.

"Notice the rings on the hands of the characters," points out Tumblr user Cinabre, who posted the photos.
"I think the best one is the one with the smurfette, because it mocks the fact that the smurfette is the only female in the smurfs world. She’s not alone anymore."

Can you identify the other animated kissers? Let us know in the comments.
