Karl Lagerfeld Says Adele is 'Too Fat,' Russian Men are 'Ugly,' and Mrs. Obama is 'Magical'

Karl Lagerfeld made several, eyebrow-raising comments this week while working in Paris as guest-editor for newswire agency Metro World News.
The 78-year-old designer was asked his opinion on everything from the British monarchy to singer Lana Del Rey, and Lagerfeld did not hold back his opinion on anything or anyone. And some people are not happy with several things he had to said.
On Adele versus Lana del Rey:
“I prefer Adele and Florence Welch. But as a modern singer she is not bad. The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice. Lana del Rey is not bad at all. She looks very much like a modern-time singer. In her photos she is beautiful. Is she a construct with all her implants? She's not alone with implants.”
On Russian men:
“If I were a woman in Russia I would be a lesbian, as the men are very ugly. There are a few handsome ones, like Naomi Campbell's boyfriend, but there you see the most beautiful women and the most horrible men.”
On President Obama deserving to be re-elected:
"Yes he does, especially because of Mrs. Obama. I'm a big fan of Mrs. Obama – and her face, I think, is magical. He would not be there without her. There was an article by some stupid woman, I forgot who, and she said she [Mrs. Obama] was poorly dressed. Mrs. Obama is not a fashion statement, she has other things to do.”
On the British monarchy’s relevancy:
“It's good for the tourists because it brings a lot of money in. It's totally unnecessary, but it's pleasant. Why not have the monarchy? People can dream about it.”
On political correctness:
“Be politically correct, but don't become a bore for that. People should be sensitive in these matters, but not make so much noise. Be politically correct, but do we have to know your opinion?”

I LOVE RUSSIANS. Some people are just idiots and just say crazy things without thinking. They have no sympathy until the hate is directed at them.
He's got "The Donald" do and who cares what he thinks. Adele is a great singer with a beautiful voice. I'm sure it killed him to apologize.
The esteemed designer looks like he's all costumed up for a summer stock revival of "The Crucible." As for Russian men, the ones I've know are absolutely sexy and ruggedly handsome. The women are indeed incredible looking. However, with that said, what about all the old, rotund Russian women in babushkas? Where did they come from?
Karl lagerfeld is a fashion legend an has earnt the right to voice his sometimes controversial opinion, Just like vivienne Westwood or even Madonna, although it is slightly mean of him to comment personally on Adele, I'm sure he wasn't being malicious. At the end of the day Adele is amazing and a rare talent however she should not be deemed a role model for 'normal girls' by the press, it is certainly not healthy to deem her weight normal. It's no wonder the so called average Uk woman is size 14 with everyone praising these so called 'real women'. It's just not healthy!
Lagerfeld needs to crawl under a rock and disappear, nothing more unattractive than a pompus, arrogant and out of touch 78 year old man (if that is what you want to call him) who takes himself so seriously....just look at the way he dresses himself. Thank God for those gloves and the high collar shirts.

Its sad to see an Icon fall.... but it seems that your time for assisted living (and speaking) has come. Your strong sense of negative opinion is a tell-tell sign of your 'I'm too old to be dressing like I'm 25, and trying to prove something'. Isn't it funny that you can dress thousands of women your age, beautifully, but can't dress one man!
Side note: when you were Adele's age, you were MUCH FATTER than her. The pictures are not hard to find.
I've worked in fashion for 25 years. You can easily re-invent your image without trashing everyone around you that doesn't need to.

Lagerfeld looks like a toad with a bad lip job. Whats the matter cant afford a little hair dye or maybe even a cut? Michelle Obama is a nightmare in appearance and ethics, and some of the hottest movie and tv hunks are at least in part, russian. Perhaps he just needs to check his crazy old self in at the nearest rest home.
