Whitney Houston Dead at 48
Whitney Houston's death was just confirmed by publicist Kristen Foster. Though the superstar singer was known to have had a drug problem in the past, the cause of her death is unknown at this time. However, Houston was seen Thursday night performing "Yes, Jesus Loves Me" at a Grammy Awards party. Gossip sites reported that following the performance she was seen partying.
Perez Hilton stated: "Gurlfriend had a good time Thursday night!!... Apparently they danced to Poison by (bringin' it back) by Bell Biv Devoe." Then, with a photo of Houston looking worn down, Hilton commented, "But now, is dear Whitney looking a bit too worse for wear???"
We're told police arrived to the scene within minutes and fire was already there on an unrelated call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.
TMZ reports reports that Houston died at the Beverly Hilton hotel and a police crime lab vehicle was seen outside the hotel. The site also noted her many achievements: "Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album 'Whitney' was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums worldwide."
