Sara Gilbert: "There is no one who fights for marriage more than gay people"

On Monday’s episode of The Talk, Sara Gilbert responded to anti-gay remarks made by Kirk Cameron last week by saying that the former Growing Pains star should think about who his comments hurt, particularly LGBT youth. As far as Cameron’s opposition to marriage equality and belief that homosexuality is "detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," Gilbert said, “I would argue there is no one who fights for marriage more than gay people.”

Guest La Toya Jackson agreed that Cameron “is sending the wrong message to children” and co-host Sheryl Underwood asked, “If he is to be Christ-like, where’s the love that Christ would have shown? Because this argument makes it seem like there’s no love in what Christ taught.”
