False Alarm: Bruno Mars Did NOT Come Out of the Closet

Contrary to a rumor widely circulated on Monday, Bruno Mars has NOT come out of the closet.

The Grammy-winning singer's name began trending on Twitter yesterday after a CNN iReport (below photo) claimed "Bruno Mars admits his homosexuality." The CNN item was followed by a report from a second outlet claiming Mars admitted to a small Chicago radio station that he was gay—first as an April Fool's Day joke to test the reaction, then again for real. But Mars' representatives have said the reports are not true.

The singer's rep told Gossip Cop the reports and rumors that Mars has come out of the closet are "false" and "completely fabricated."

We have to say we are a bit bummed, because when Mars croons, we swoon. Still, no one denied Mars is gay, just that he came out.
