King of the silent screen Ramon Novarro’s problems with alcohol were well-documented during his lifetime, but his sexual proclivities, an open secret in Hollywood circles, was closely guarded from the public. Rather than try to pick up people on the streets, Novarro frequently hooked up with young male prostitutes who he would have over to his home. While the actor was usually careful about the men he chose, the night Paul and Tom Ferguson walked through his door was the last time Novarro was seen alive.

His murder was one of the biggest scandals to ever hit Hollywood and William Van Meter has written a fascinating article for Out.com providing an in-depth look at the 1968 case that shocked the nation.
