The Sexiest Men Alive: A Queerer Second Opinion

By: Brandon Voss

Claiming that "sexiness is about brain as much as brawn," has responded to People's new "Sexiest Men Alive" issue — including "Sexiest Man Alive 2012" Channing Tatum — with its own annual list of unexpected hotness.

Full of "real men" who engaged with the year's issues in "important and interesting ways," the top 10 includes amazingly fashionable actor Ezra Miller, who came out as "queer" in an Out cover story on The Perks of Being a Wallflower, as well as out hip-hop artist Frank Ocean, who was recently celebrated in a cover story for The Advocate.

Salon's top pick, a thinking man's alternative to Mr. Tatum, is none other than NFL punter, outspoken LGBT ally, Out cover boy, and catchphrase king Chris Kluwe.

Rounding out the top 10 are Louis C.K., Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, actor John Hawkes, Chinese artist-activist Ai Weiwei, socio-political comedian W. Kamau Bell, Girls hunk Adam Driver, and comic Rob Delaney.
