Fergie Will Get a Big Gay Award from Chelsea Handler

Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and Lady Gaga, pop star Fergie will recieve the “Always Next, Forever Now” Award at Logo's sixth annual NewNowNext Awards, which honor the greatest and gayest in pop culture.

"I could not be more proud to be honored by Logo," says the Black Eyed Peas singer in a statement. "This award is so incredibly special to me because of the tremendous love and support I have always experienced from the LGBT community. Logo's philosophy of acceptance with no barriers and no judgment is a message that we should all live by."

A philanthropist who has worked closely with organizations such as amfAR and the M•A•C AIDS Fund, Fergie, who's currently pregnant and married to actor Josh Duhamel, openly discussed her bisexuality in a 2009 interview with The Advocate.

How has Logo managed to made the honor even more fergalicious? Fergie will be presented with her award by pal Chelsea Handler, outrageously outspoken author, comedian, and host of Chelsea Lately.

Taped Apr. 13 at Hollywood's Fonda Theater, the NewNowNext awards special will air Apr. 15 on Logo. Additional performers, presenters, and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
