ABBA Is Never Ever Getting Back Together

Like, ever — according to former ABBA member Agnetha Faltskog, 63, who returns with the May 14 release of A, her first album of new material since 1987.

"I think we have to accept that it will not happen, because we are too old and each one of us has their own life," she tells The New York Times, totally harshing the vibe of dancing queens everywhere. "Too many years have gone by since we stopped, and there’s really no meaning in putting us together again."

Perhaps we can find some solace in the fact that she remains on good terms with her former band mates of the chart-topping Swedish pop quartet — "It’s always nice to see each other now and then and to talk a little and to be a little nostalgic," she says — and no longer turns off the radio if an ABBA song comes on: "There were, really, some years when we’d had enough with Abba music. Both Frida [Lyngstad] and I had some years after we stopped when we never listened to it. But then some years go by, so it’s O.K. to listen to it again."

Despite her crushing your dreams of an ABBA reunion, will you give Agnetha's new album a listen?
