Harry Styles Tweets Support of Equal Rights
As threatened, Westboro Baptist Church picketed One Direction's concert Friday evening in Kansas City, Mo., but at least something good came out of it.
“WBC will picket this perverted pop boy band from the UK who claim to be the world's #1 band,” read a message on the headline-grabbing extremist religious group's website. “Indeed, they are a perfect representation of this filthy world and the sin-chasing, fag-enabling, God-hating, Christ-rejecting UK who has banned WBC from preaching within her borders." Wow, tell us how you really feel, WBC!
“These freaks and their fans think it’s funny for these five perverts to grab each other’s asses on stage," they continued. "They glamorize sin and make a mock of God’s standards. Their one purpose is to encourage the youth of this generation to pursue every lust their evil hearts can imagine.”
Spotting the protesters when arriving at the venue, Harry Styles tweeted, "Despite the company outside, I believe in equal rights for everyone. I think God loves all. Thanks for coming to the show though." And thank you, Harry!
Well, hell hath no fury like One Direction's provoked fans, who followed Harry's lead and blasted WBC on Twitter. WBC responded, "Members of the Westboro Baptist Church are your kindest & most loving friends, while #OneDirection are the enemies of your soul! #FearGod."
See Harry's friendlier tweet below. If only he had included a photo like this.
