Gawker Suggests James Franco Has a Live In Boyfriend
James Franco has played gay, spoken at length about gay rights and even directed projects about gay subject matter — but is he actually gay?
That’s what Gawker thinks a recent story in The New York Times implies, with multiple references to the actor’s “roommate” actor Scott Haze. The two recently collaborated on a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Child of God.
In a profile about the two actors' various collaborations, Times reporter Jacob Bernstein reports that Franco and Haze met “more than a decade ago when they were acting students in Los Angeles.” They're “so close that describing them merely as friends would be a disservice.” They shared "an apartment in Brooklyn this summer.”
Then Gawker points to this passage: “By now, it was 12:30 a.m. and Mr. Franco was clearly fading. An assistant pointed him and Mr. Haze to two waiting town cars. Mr. Franco expressed surprise, since they needed only one. ‘We live in the same place,’ he said.”
Franco, never one to duck tabloid rumors, responded to the Gawker article on Instagram, saying the website is “always getting the cutting edge, homophobic scoop.”
We can still dream, can't we?
