"Photo Copy": See What Develops

Say "hello" and get your hands dirty with “Photo Copy,” a new interactive feature that challenges our most creative readers to show us their stuff.

Here’s how “Photo Copy” works:  Each week we’ll choose a specific celebrity, athlete, TV/film character or public figure, and run an image gallery of them on PlanetOut.   We’ll then ask you to submit your own “Photo Copy,” where you send us a shot of yourself, done up as that particular person.   We’ll take all of the images submitted by you and run them on PlanetOut in the “Photo Copy” gallery.

Got it?  Ok – our first official "Photo Copy" challenge is in tribute to “Mad Men,” which returns for its third season on Aug. 16.  The super sexy series set at a Madison Ave. ad agency in the early 60's features some of the most unique styles ever shown on TV, and now it's time to "Photo Copy" it.  The best part about "Mad Men" is the gender-neutrality of its characters – so we expect just as many lesbians as we do gay men to submit photos of themselves as advertising creative director Don Draper; and we can’t wait to see who can pull off the best Joan Holloway, the searingly-hot senior secretary.

If you still worry that you can’t do it, the guy in the photo in this article is not from the cast -- isn't he picture perfect? We think so.

Take the "Photo Copy: Mad Men" challenge and send your pics to tips@planetout.com, making sure to put "Photo Copy" in the subject line. Oh -- here's a link to the official "Mad Men" Web site if you need inspiration.
