Demi Moore and Perez Hilton's Twitter Feud
Did we need another reason to loathe Perez Hilton? You don't even have to be a Demi Moore fan to want to take her side in this fight. Moore is tweeting mad about Hilton's latest celebrity skin picture posts. And with good reason: The skin in question belongs to her 15-year-old daughter, Tallulah.
The seeds of the disagreement were planted three weeks ago when gossip site maverick Hilton tweeted: "Tallulah Willis, 15, dressing like a slut! Look at her boobs! http://bit.ly/TzOex Demi, Ashton and Bruce are GREAT parents!"
Perhaps she didn't find out until recently, but mama Moore just unleashed a fury aimed at Hilton for all her Twitter followers (upward of a million users) to read. Moore posted, "Anyone who advertises follows or supports Perez supports violating child pornography laws!" And: “Let me ask all of you, what is it called when someone is telling people to look and focus on a child's "boobs & ass" while providing photos?” Followed by: "Clearly Perez Hilton isn't taking violating child pornography laws very seriously. He might not but there are a lot of people who do!"
The irrepressible Hilton quickly responded with a vicious, defensive stream of tweets back referring to Moore, her youngest daughter, her ex-husband (and children's father) Bruce Willis, and her current husband, Ashton Kutcher. Hilton's million-plus followers saw him post the following in succession:
"Expect another letter from my attorney, kitten. Xoxo"
"P.S. Bring it on, bitch!"
"And THIS is what senile Demi is referring to http://bit.ly/TzOex A photo I linked to on my Twitter a couple of weeks ago."
"That fine, upstanding, wholesome young lady is her 15 year old. daughter Tallulah"
"And thanks for drawing MORE attention to your daughter's behavior and your parenting skills (or lack thereof). U r real smart!"
"Should I sue Demi Moore?"
"Still waiting for you to retract your incorrect, libelous and defamatory statements."
"Look at her Tweets. SHE is the one breaking the law with her libelous, defamatory, inaccurate and stupid allegations."
Moore did not respond to Hilton’s ridicule any further but continued discussing the exploitative gossip with her own followers before concluding, "This is not a game. Children should not be exploited. They must be protected."
Always hungry for the last word, Hilton posted his final thoughts: "Ur daughter has been an actress in Bruce's films. You 2 have been exploiting Tallulah for quite some time."
This is the same Perez Hilton who recently claimed to have turned over a new, more compassionate leaf after his incident with the the Black Eyed Peas' manager and Will.I.Am this summer.
The Twitter feud has significantly raised the public profile of the scandalous photographs.
Tell us: Is Hilton “just doing his job” with impartiality? Or is he a destructive exploiter who victimizes people? Does Twitter bring nothing but trouble?
