The star of box office hit (and Avatar dethroner) Dear John, Channing Tatum, has always been up front about his past as an exotic dancer before breaking into acting. His steadfast response to the press has always been "I'm not proud of it, but I'm not ashamed of it."

When daytime talk queen and out lesbian DeGeneres admitted, "I don't know what men strippers do," Tatum was inspired to give the lady a little show of his skill set held over from the stripping days.

After straddling Ellen’s lap, much to the delight of the audience, Tatum looked a bit embarrassed, but a bemused DeGeneres just joked, "I wish I had a dollar. If only I had cash, I would have kept you going."

"Don't worry,” he replied, “that one was on the house."

Tatum believes there’s a sound movie idea to be hashed out of his exotic dancer past. He’s keen to develop a film and has named Nicolas Refn as a dream director for the project.
