Somebody sexy will be stepping into the spandex superhero costume of Captain America for a big summer blockbuster. The Marvel Studios execs are testing some of the hottest men in Hollywood for the leading role to take the Captain from comics to the big screen in what they hope will be the next huge superhero film franchise.

Hey, it worked for Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).

So which superstuds are in the running and which action actors have already been ruled out?

Various reports have some seriously sizzling celebs already counted out of the patriotic hero role.

Office dreamboat John Krasinski, sexy-faced Gossip Girl boy Chace Crawford, and O.C. crush Michael Cassidy have all been crossed off as possible Captain Americas.

Industry insiders suspect the top-tier competitors for the coveted role are now down to Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy), and my TOP choice: Chris Evans (Fantastic Four).

Here’s hoping Marvel is smart enough to give that hot and hilarious Evans the springboard to superstardom.
