Melissa Etheridge ends her marriage... is there any hope for lasting love?

Maybe no love lasts a lifetime.

Maybe The Notebook lied to us!!

Enduring lesbian love gives me hope that there is a happy ending out there for some of us gays. That’s why I’ve fallen into a deep depression with the news Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels are divorcing after nine years and two children together.

Close the curtains; I don’t want to see the California sunshine today. I need a drink.
In a bare-bones statement, a rep for Etheridge announced to People magazine (which is SO into gay couple coverage, I’ve noticed lately) the dissolution of the blond power couple’s relationship and asked for privacy for their family.

I will always have a soft spot for the ex-Mrs. Etheridge, who rocked as a mean girl on Ryan Murphy’s (Nip/Tuck, Glee) first TV show, Popular. Déjà Vogue much?

It’s all on Ellen and Portia’s shoulders now. Luckily, those two crazy kids show no signs of letting up on the lovey-dovey anytime soon. DeGeneres tells Shape magazine this month that her radiant wife, Portia de Rossi, “loves me no matter what. Whenever I feel bad about myself, or if I’m in a period where I'm not working out, she’s constantly telling me that she doesn’t notice, that I look beautiful. She’ll say, ‘I think you could gain ten more pounds.’

“She would rather have me heavier than thinner, and she really hates that I ever doubt myself. She loves how I look. She wants me to be happy and never think about it.”

I want to meet a man who loves me like that. But what’s the point? It wouldn’t last… OK, OK. I’m just going to re-watch Enchanted tonight and find the will to believe in love again.
