Shrek characters get frisky with models
I always knew that Puss in Boots was a dirty boy. I mean, c’mon, when you’re voiced by Antonio Banderas, things are bound to get a little sex-ay!
It seems Paramount execs are regretting featuring popular characters from the animated Shrek films in a men’s fashion magazine feature to promote the newest installment in the film’s franchise, Shrek Forever After.
Notably, among the fashionable shots for VMan magazine, “Puss In Boots was pictured being fed grapes by a bare-chested male model and Donkey was shown cuddling a brunette dressed in saucy lingerie.”
A rep for the movie studio now says, “While we do respect VMan’s creative vision, the shoot did not turn out the way originally envisioned when the idea was first presented by the magazine. In hindsight, we would have declined to include the Shrek characters in such a magazine spread.”
Shrek has always been known as the kids’ movie with plenty of wink-wink adult references, so these shots, while not tame, seem to send a similarly cheeky message.
