Slap-Fight: Marc Cherry’s (Alleged) Backhand vs. Nicollette Sheridan’s Lawsuit

It’s got to be a tough week to be Teri Hatcher. I mean, I imagine it’s never easy to be that tautly thin, but her name has been dragged into a real life legal mess so melodramatic and juicy, it seems straight out of Wisteria Lane. And it wasn’t even Susan’s (Hatcher’s) fault. For once.



See, really this is about evil Edie. Actually, it’s just about a possible slap delivered to actress Nicollette Sheridan, who left the ABC nighttime soap Desperate Housewives last year. The leggy lady blond has now filed suit against series creator Marc Cherry. The former DH alleges she suffered some serious abuse at the hands of Cherry. Tens of millions of dollars’ worth of trauma, in fact. Whoa.



So just what is she accusing out writer-exec Cherry of? And how did Hatcher get thrown into the mix?

Sheridan claims Cherry struck her across the face after she questioned his script while working on September 24, 2008. She goes on to say the former Golden Girls scribe later begged for forgiveness outside her trailer.



In an additional accusation, she also alleges other members of the show’s cast and crew suffered mistreatment from Cherry. She even reportedly notes costar Hatcher complained about the conditions on Cherry’s set to the big ABC bosses. When he heard, he reportedly replied, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."

This ish never would have flown with Bea Arthur.

Sheridan says ABC rebuffed her complaints and she was eventually dismissed from playing Edie, the sexy realtor role she put her “heart and soul into.”

She’s seeking a minumum of $20 mil in damages.
