Mighty Jake Gyllenhaal Fears Ostriches

Aw, gentle Jake Gyllenhaal is a bit of a fraidycat. This only makes us love you more, Jakey-poo.

The fragile action star had no qualms about swordplay or jumping off buildings to get in shape for Prince of Persia. Filming in close proximity to large ostriches, however, left the Brokeback boy shaking in his sandals.

"They would say, 'Don't make any noise around the ostriches. They'll tear out your eyes and rip out your heart.' So, I was naturally terrified," Gyllenhaal tells People. "They look like they're innocent, but they're really not."

Just like mojitos.

Costar Gemma Arterton confirmed, "He was really scared. He ran away, and the look on his face — it's not acting. It's real."
