First Look: Chris Hemsworth is Thor

Last week we snuck a look at the first designs of Chris Evans as Captain America and although there was no cape, he made quite the comely crusader.

Now, take a glimpse at another classic Marvel superhero figure reborn: Thor. Cute Aussie Chris Hemsowrth (Star Trek) holds the mighty hammer in this new A-List adaptation. Find out more details on next summer’s most anticipated action film after the break.

The pedigree on this puppy has it primed to be one of the all time great comic book movies. Out May 6, 2011, Thor is directed by heavyweight Kenneth Branagh and stars Hemsworth alongside pros like Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and Rene Russo. English actor Tom Hiddleston plays the ravishing rival, Loki.

One more nugget for you hardcore fans, IMDB.com reports you can “expect to see agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., previously seen in Iron Man, to make an appearance, further foreshadowing the coming of The Avengers!”
