Drag queens have been turning the act of female illusion into an art form for years, but it looks like lip-syncing divas everywhere have just gotten some stiff competition.
Japan’s latest pop star, Aimi Eguchi, is the newest member to join AKB 48—a popular singing idol group that has 61 other members. However, Eguchi isn’t a girl at all. In fact, she isn’t even human.
Fans were shocked to learn that the rising star is actually a computer-generated fake composed from the facial features of 6 different real group members.
Is this the next evolution in manufactured pop idols?
Hopefully not.
Pop stars are always a bit more fun with a head-shaving incident or two under their belt.
