Best Gay Ads 2011
With the collective LGBT buying power expected to exceed $835 billion in 2011, you would think that advertisers would want to approach gay pockets with deeper, more accurate representations of our community.
Let’s face it: Money talks and some of our wallets have plenty to say.
Let’s also face that we live forward. We buy forward too. And we should hold advertisers accountable for any backward perspectives less we allow them to reframe, in their terms, the queer psyche under some gilded marketing fantasy and cliché. Change only comes under pressure.
Yet, if we look at the most recent winners of GLAAD's Amplifier Awards, some advertisers out there already extend themselves to our instincts and predicaments. Without further ado, we present to you this year’s winners of GLAAD’s best gay-themed ads.
Do they walk the gay walk? Talk the gay talk? You be the judge.

What's Logo?
Logo is a cable network channel that caters specifically to the LGBT community, and features shows, news, and music geared more towards us and our trends.
Totally did not know about the itgetsbetter.org. Super great idea. Its also about time that vendors start reaching out to where the money truly is. Although, I do not recall seeing any of these ads. My television is not stuck on Logo neither though but I am a supporter of that channel.
