Watch: Lady Gaga Premieres “Marry The Night” Video
Lady Gaga is coming apart dramatically in “Marry The Night,” her debut as a music/short film director. And no one in pop, these days, does unraveling better--barely held together by a condom tutu, a BeDazzler with a mission, and Cheerios that seem to blow in from everywhere. In other words, it feels exactly right.
Gaga drew inspiration for the video from the day, as E! News puts it, "she thought she saw her dreams slipping away,” right after she was dropped from her first label, Island Def Jam, in 2006.
“It was one of the worst days of my life and it happened quite quickly, but in my mind, when I think back on that period of my life, it all happened very slowly."
"It is my personal way of seeing things,” she said. “If you give up after something like that, you were never destined to be an entertainer."
Here, in the span of 14 minutes, the duchess of synchronized dancing and dress-up delivers what many are calling her best performance yet, however excessive. Sometimes, more really is more.
