The world first saw the Caped Crusader on film in 1943 when Lewis Wilson put on the cape and cowl in a 15-part serial creatively called Batman. While Wilson looks like clean-cut and debonair as Bruce Wayne, but check out awesome legs in the Batsuit! They're bat-riffic!

In 1949, Robert Lowery played a beefy Batman in a 15-part serial film by Columbia Pictures. He didn't have the sculpted Batsuit of the modern day hero, but he and his boy-wonder Robin still managed to unmask a super-villain called The Wizard, while looking great in tights. Plus, Lowery made a hunky Bruce Wayne too.

Who can forget Adam West's iconic yet camp Caped Crusader in the 1966 film Batman:The Movie? Not only did he rock the shiny cape and Batbriefs, but he also danced the Bat-toosie. As Bruce Wayne, he played a yacht and caviar sort, but stayed handsome and just as fun.

In 1989, Michael Keaton wowed audiences with his wealth and wonderful toys as billionaire Bruce Wayne and his brooding alter-ego Batman. Keaton made a believably unconventional hero, delivering a knock-out punchline to The Joker and tangling with the Penguin's Red Triangle circus in Batman Returns.

As Bruce Wayne, actor Val Kilmer conveyed an earnest, troubled millionaire who worked out his inner conflict as The Dark Knight in the 1995 film, Batman Forever. But while The Riddler and Two-Face made great illustrations of psychological torment, they also made Batman look completely sane compared to their colorful costumes and cartoonish capers.

As the last of Joel Schumacher's Batmen, George Clooney played an understated Bruce Wayne who moolighted as a cartoony Caped Crusader. For some reason, Schumacher added nipples and a codpiece onto the Batsuit for some added comedy or cockiness (which, we're not sure).

In the badly needed Batman reboot, Bruce Wayne gets played by Christian Bale who acts like a playboy businessman who spends more time bare-chested than any other of his winged predecessors. As the Dark Knight, Bale becomes dark and daring but with a deep voice that's both sexy and distracting.
