It’s been lip-synched, remixed, and even Ricky Martined. Now Kinky Boots has inspired its own line of footwear.

Based on the 2005 movie about a drag queen named Lola who saves a shoe factory, Kinky Boots is a hit Broadway musical written by Harvey Fierstein with songs by Cyndi Lauper. Fabulous out actor Billy Porter stars as Lola, whose boots practically steal the show.

Fashion icon Kenneth Cole has partnered with the Tony-winning musical to launch a limited-edition Kinky Boots shoe collection, available this holiday season. Inspired by the boots worn onstage in the musical, originally designed by Tony nominee Gregg Barnes, the collection will feature a patent leather peep-toe pump, a leopard knee-high boot, and a black knee-high boot. Gotta love the red zipper! All three styles will have a “Kinky Boots by Kenneth Cole” logo embossed on the sole.

The Kinky Boots collection will retail $150-$400 and be sold at Kenneth Cole stores, Kennethcole.com, and select department stores. Kenneth Cole stores will offer a 20% discount to customers with a Kinky Boots ticket stub. All of the profits from the shoe sales will benefit AWEARNESS, The Kenneth Cole Foundation in support of the Human Rights Campaign.

“Being the son of a women’s shoe factory owner, Kinky Boots resonated with me on so many different levels,” says the designer. “It was such an inspiring story, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to collaborate on a shoe collection that makes people look good, and do good by raising funds for HRC.”

In a designated area in front of the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, passersby can also try to win a pair of Kinky Boots tickets by following @kennethcoleprd and @kinkybootsbway and Instagraming a photo of their “kinky” shoes using #KCKinkyboots.
