“Here’s where the fun begins.” – Han Solo

Beginning today, you’ll be able to get your geek on each Friday with Gay.net as we share the most awesome, insane, and totally geek-tacular tidbits from around the web.

Here are the 5 that set off our nerd alert this week.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The newest trailer from the upcoming Lord of the Rings series of prequels gives us a greater look at what’s in store for fans when they return to Middle-earth this December.

Injustice: Gods Among Us
Our favorite heroes and villains from the DC Universe throw down in this new super-powered trailer for the upcoming fighting game from NetherRealm Studios.

Anyone involved with the in-development Justice League live-action film would be wise to take note. This is how you do the DC Universe (wait for it) justice.

Teen Wolf
The creative minds behind Teen Wolf promised a new video for fans once they reached the 2 million mark on Facebook and they delivered the goods in spades. The below vid is basically one big gag reel featuring Stiles and Derek (or Sterek for all you shippers out there).

Is there any wonder gays are howling for the wolf pack?

The convention for all things He-Man, She-Ra, and Thundercats returns for its second year this weekend, September 22 – 23.

Held at the Torrance Marriott South Bay in Torrance, California, Power-Con/ThunderCon 2012 will have an impressive list of special guests in attendance including people involved in each one of the original toy lines, classic television shows, and even the live-action Masters of the Universe movie. Convention exclusives, two days of panels, and a charity auction are only a small part of what’s in store for attendees.

Deadpool vs Gangnam Style
Just when you thought cosplayers couldn’t get any crazier…

This fan video of Marvel Comics’ wisecracking assassin giving it to us Gangnam Style is just the kind of thing we think Deadpool would totally give two big thumbs up.
