Zombies, revealing costumes, and the return of a sexy sci-fi hero – Oh my!

These are the 6 bits of nerdy news that had us geeking out this week.

Kick Ass Goes Commando?

Revealing new photos from the set of Kick Ass 2 have hit the web and they’ve left fans with a new appreciation for star Aaron Johnson – and his costume.

Pop over to BuzzFeed.com to find out why.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Gaymers with an affinity for the walking dead and first-person shooters will definitely want to check out the new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Zombie campaign. This sequel looks so good it’s scary.

All-New DC Nation

New episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice: Invasion will begin airing once more this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. during Cartoon Network’s DC Nation programing block. Of course that also means more of those awesome DC shorts are on their way, so grab your light-rings and remotes!

Captain Power Returns!

The short-lived and well-loved 80s sci-fi series Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future is getting retooled and rebooted as a new weekly hour-long drama titled Phoenix Rising. Since the reboot is being helmed by the original creator, Gary Goddard, I’m expecting the return of Captain Jonathan Power to be nothing less than glorious. (Head over to Ain’t It Cool News for all details on the franchise’s newest incarnation.) However, you don’t have to wait that long show the Soldiers of the Future some love. If you haven’t already picked up a set of the complete series on DVD, it’s still available at www.captainpowerreturns.net and while you’re there make sure to snag a copy of the Original Television Soundtrack as well. The limited edition CD comes with a 16-page booklet filled with tons of goodies, including never before seen concept art from the series. Power on!
