Holy Action Figures, Batman!

The web site Coming Soon has confirmed that toy company Mattel is working on a line of action figures based on the 1960s Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. The line will be aimed at collectors and is planned for release sometime in 2013. This could also mean good news for a possible DVD release of the classic series in the near future. While Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox – the two companies which own the rights to the iconic show – have been unable to strike a deal that would appeal to both parties to date, their ability to reach an agreement over the production of the upcoming toy line is a step in the right direction. Until then we’ll have to settle for some fierce feline figure action. (Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt as Catwoman are going to be plastic perrrrrfection!)
