Meet the Contestants of Best in Drag Show 2013
And may the best queen win!
Six of America’s fiercest and funniest drag queens are preparing to compete in the Best in Drag Show, an annual beauty pageant raising funds for Aid for AIDS, a program run by the Alliance for Housing and Healing, which provides food and shelter for impoverished Angelenos living with HIV/AIDS.
More than 2,000 people are expected to attend this year’s competition, a Miss America-style spoof in which contestants will show off talents, interview skills, their finest evening gowns, and swimwear in hopes of taking home the coveted Best in Drag Show crown.
Hosted by cofounder Patrick Rush, the event will take place Oct. 6 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Celebrity judges include Two and a Half Men's Holland Taylor, The Killing's Mireille Enos, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off's Alan Ruck, Scandal's Bellamy Young, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Kathy Kinney.
Miss California: Beverly Centre, Miss Michigan: Electra Caprice Riviera, Miss New Jersey: Vava Fanculo, Miss Puerto Rico: Mimi E, Miss Washington, D.C.: Ciera Lyon, and Miss Wisconsin: Misty O'Portunity are this year’s fabulous contestants.
Who will snatch the tiara from the reigning title holder, Miss Typsy Rose Lee (pictured)?
