Taking Viagra For Fun? Here's Why You Might Wanna Stop

If you can get boners on your own, but like popping erectile dysfunction meds (EDM) just for rockstar sex, be warned!

Not only can overdosage cause painfully prolonged erections capable of permanently damaging your dong, but a new study in last month's Journal of Sexual Medicine revealed that recreational users can end up forming a psychological addiction to ED drugs, reducing a person's ability to get it up at all.

The study surveyed 1,207 sexually active male American undergraduates about how often they use ED meds and their levels of sexual function, satisfaction and confidence overall.

The 72 recreational users reported lower levels of erectile confidence and sexual satisfaction than the 1,111 nonusers. These lower levels of confidence increased the frequency with which recreational users took EDM, which in turn decreased their ability to get hard without the drug.

Though the results seem to indicate that, "recreational ED medication use among healthy young men may lead to psychogenic ED," they added that only additional research could confirm this hypothesis.
