Pretty-boy Pitt has put his money where his best-seen-and-not-heard mouth is and donated $100,000 to the anti-Proposition 8 campaign - the California ballot measure seeking to ban same-sex marriages.

In his statement, Pitt says, "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."

Brad_pitt_prop_8_2 Pitt is the highest profile celeb to donate to the cause in such a big way, and say what you will about his acting career and even his prolific brood, but the guy has seemingly made it his personal mission to save the world. And not in a creepy, Tom Cruise/Scientology kind of way, but in a way that shows both compassion and commitment.

Then again, didn't he and Angelina say they wouldn't get married until the gays could? Maybe plans are afoot to make an honest woman outta her.  Either way, Pitt's statement and donation is an incredible gesture, and challenge others in his income bracket to do the same and will hopefully be met with appreciation rather than cynicism from the gay community.  What do you think - do you find this inspirational or just same ol', same ol'?
