Advocate, Out Nab Top Awards

The Advocate and Out magazines picked up the prestigious "Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage" honor at the 22nd annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York on Saturday.

The two LGBT publications (owned by the same parent company as gay.com) beat out tough competition from four other magazines, including Entertainment Weekly, People, and US Weekly for the honor.

Also winning a top honor at the awards was the column "View From Washington" by Kerry Eleveld, which is posted on Advocate.com. It was named "Outstanding Digital Journalism Article."
