Blake Shelton, the country music star and judge on NBC's popular singing-competition show The Voice, appeared to support antigay violence in a tweet on Wednesday. The incident happened when he parodied a Shania Twain song.
The Advocate reports (via La Figa) that Shelton said on Twitter that he was “Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song” and “Any man that tries Touching my behind He’s gonna be a beaten, bleedin’, heaving kind of guy…”

This isn't the first time in recent days that Shelton has made an anti-gay statement. Over the weekend, Shelton cracked an antigay joke when he hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards with Reba McEntire, suggesting that Jake Gyllenhaal had left Taylor Swift because the actor “was in Brokeback Mountain.” This prompted laughter from the audience in Las Vegas.
