Tracy Morgan's Anti-Gay Rant
Comedian Tracy Morgan had a field day with gays and lesbians, according to The Advocate.
At a show in Nashville, Morgan made a series of jokes—reportedly egged on with hoots and cheers from some members of the audience—that many consider to be ignorant and violent toward members of the LGBT community. Audience member Kevin Rogers took to his Facebook page where he stated that Morgan joked “women are a gift from God and that ‘Born this Way’ is bullshit. Gay is a choice.” Morgan is said to have called gay people “mistakes,” said lesbians just hate men and don’t have real attraction to women, advised gays to “quit being pussies” and stop whining about bullying, and then talked about killing his son if he came home and revealed he was gay.
GLAAD and numerous other watchdog groups have jumped into the battle, while the show's venue distanced itself from Morgan with a statement issued today to The Advocate.
Now Morgan's team has issued a statement apologizing. In the statement the comedian says, "I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others."
