Dan Savage Makes a Deal with Senator Rick Santorum

When Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum compared homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality, Dan Savage decided to take matters into his own hands and fight Sanatorum’s hateful speech with an internet prank.

As you probably already know, Savage redefined the Senator’s last name as a sexual neologism which has appeared at the top of web searches for Santorum since 2003.

Now that the Senator has set his sights on chair in the Oval Office, Dan Savage is threatening to redefine the politician’s first name if he attacks gays and lesbians during his campaign.

In an exclusive video for funnyordie.com, Savage reveals the consequences Santorum will face if he continues to make his platform an anti-gay one.

It seems like a fair deal to us.

Hey Dan....
Now can we change Bachmann's name to Fuckmann....michelle will fuck any man...makes sense to me...would serve her right ....LOL

While only members of my family use the nickname Rick in reference to me, most of my friends and aquaintances use the shortened version of Richard, i.e., Rich. However, I will happily endure the redefining of the name "Rick" if it will keep a narrowminded, bigoted, twit from another barrage of hate on the LGBT community.

Dan, you are one of my favorite people in the world. Keep up the good work!

I've always liked Mr. Savage. Have enjoyed reading his articles whenever I get the chance. This made me laugh and smile so much. Love you Dan Savage. Keep up the great work.

If Rick Santorum can't stop bashing gays, I will redefine his name. I already got one

Rick: When a bottom farts frequently after anal sex.

Yes, it happened to me a lot after I got a bone up there

Ladies and Gentlemen, lets not pick on all of the Ricks of the world. There are many men named 'Rick'. It would be unfair to them to foul their name. Also remember, 'Rick' is short for 'Richard' and 'Richard' is long for dick. Or maybe he's longs for it. Anyway, jokes aside, maybe we should focus on defeating such candidates with good arguements. Also, I think we should consider focusing on the more libertarian Republican candidates (Ron Paul and Gary Johnson). Yeah I know they probably have no chance of getting the nomination, but if they got some support in the polls they might actually get heard. They are not anti-gay and make good arguements for GLBT rights. I'd love to see them in the later round of debates. They would inadvertantly be good spokesmen for GLBT rights.

Well Dan according to Rick Santorum who said "There are foul people out there who do horrible things. it's unfortunate some people thought it would be a big joke to make fun of my name" he seems to think that this is some kind of joke. Is it really worth the time and effort spreading santorum all over this guy when Romney & Bachmann remain santorum free? I think not and propose that we (you!) need to re-define Romney & Bachmann instead!

For bachmann I propose: When a conservative Republican man who is REALLY gay but REALLY doesn't want anyone to suspect anything, because he REALLY hates all gays (himself included), decides to "get a bachmann" who is another homophobic conservative to marry.

For romney I have nothing! But it needs to be, like Santorum said & thinks we are, "foul" & "horrible."

He is a nasty man. He represented PA but spent most of his time living in VA. He had a home in PA that was rarely inhabited. Part of this was because Rick decided he wanted to send his children to a private school rather than a public school while in he was trying hard to wreck the public schools. I found out that Carrabba's in my neighborhood was giving money to his campaign. I will not eat there anymore and encourage my friends to do the same thing. Would not want him to even be in the running for the job!!

Jime 8.5.2011 1:12:00 PM

He lived in the Penn Hill section of Pittsburgh, now in Virginia. He lied when he was a senator and now he wants to be President I DON"T think so. He is a breader with a lot of children and all he does is lie, check his record. He is a a nasty lier.

Dan, I live in Pennsylvania, and I've had to endure this homophobic twit when he was our senator. (I hate using the word "our" since he certainly didn't represent me.) Since he has little to say other than to express his hatred of the LGBT community and abortion (, and in Santorum's case, retroactive abortion would have been a plus), I offer my condolences to anyone in the world named "Rick," since I know now that your deal is going to end badly.

Well take solace in the fact that y'all voted him out in 2006 and also the fact that he'll never be elected President.
