Jonathan Adler - Design We Love
We love, love, LOVE and are inspired by designer Jonathan Adler. He’s a gay man whose designs—we have found—appeal to every other gay man’s aesthetic. His stuff is pop, mod, retro and chic all at the same time. If you want a laugh, read his manifesto (or check it out below).
BACKGROUND: Adler was originally a potter. He met his match in the fashion industry, Barney’s Creative Director Simon Doonan. Soon after, he opened a charming shop in Soho and has slowly expanded his repertoire and his business, bringing a fabulous and fun sensibility to happy homes the world over.
Adler epitomizes so much of what we love about interior design: bold color, exciting patterns, the mix of vintage and contemporary, of whimsy and personality, and “anything shiny” says Clark. You’ll find his furniture, lamps, dishes, blankets and bric-a-brac scattered throughout our home; take a look at our Adler shrine, below. While you shouldn’t buy everything for your home in one place, we confess that Adler is our first stop for just about everything.
Watch this awesome video of Jonathan Adler in his studio and then follow him home to see more of Adler's world.
