House Proud: Master Bath Reveal
The master bathroom renovation is complete and we are over the moon! We wanted a spacious looking, contemporary bath that felt luxurious without being fussy and I think we did it. We followed our Story Board to a tee, which kept our design clean and also kept us within budget. What do you think?
Much like the guest bathroom we finished last month, this bath is all about Carrara marble, polished chrome, a grey color base with swaths of white and touches of black. However, this bath is decidedly contemporary, with no nods to a traditional style. Looking at the before picture, you can see that the previous bathroom design left the room looking dark and small with a claustrophobic shower. Those were the problems to solve.

The new design leaves the room very light and bright because the window is visible from every perspective. The shower still has the same footprint, but feels very roomy because we cleared the ceiling height and went with a glass enclosure. We opted for a half wall to obscure the toilet when you're showering. Having a view from the shower is wonderful, and the choice to forego a shower door makes the experience of showering feel even more exhibitionistic!

The floating vanity (from Ikea, but customized with our favorite drawer pulls from Atlas Homewares) contributes to the room’s airiness. The four vanity drawers and the two built-in medicine cabinets on the left and right side of the mirror provide ample storage for this gay couple that loves their products and fragrances.

Two baths down, one to go. And the next one is going to be a sexy, black bathroom. Stay tuned!
