The Killer of ALL Exercises!

Do you find yourself bored with certain exercises?  There are certain exercises that are “staples” to a gym workout: bench press, squats, lat pull down, bicep curls, and tricep extensions.  All great exercises that isolate the desired muscles work.  However, it sometimes gets a little tedious.  Here's one exercise that works all of the primary muscle groups at once and it is anything BUT boring.

Find a cable station that has a pull-up bar attached to it or a free standing pull up bar.  Stand directly beneath the pull-up bar with feet shoulder width apart.

  1. Jump up and grasp the pull-up bar with both hands.  Make sure you use a wide grip.  Activate your “core” by drawing in your abs and perform one pull-up.
  2. Once you have lowered yourself with arms extended, jump down onto the ground landing in a squat position with both legs bent.
  3. Lean forward and drop down to a pushup position kicking your legs back behind you. Perform one push-up.
  4. Once you press up jump your feet in towards your upper body and return to a squat position.
  5. Explode and jump back up to the pull-up bar.

That’s one!  Perform 10-15 reps.  By doing this one exercise you are working: the back, biceps, chest, triceps, shoulders, legs, glutes, and calves! Also since it is such an explosive exercise you are working your cardio-vascular system as well. Happy sweating!
