Eye Candy Golden Iris Award: Fashion Model of the Year

By: Michael Matson
12.17.2009

Winner: Sean O'Pry

Duh! Like you didn't see this one coming. 2009 was a stellar year for Seano: Forbes named him the world's top male model, his hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia honored him with a key to the city and he turned 20 (Seano's a Cancer). Plus, he appeared in campaigns for everyone from Armani to Uniqlo, bagged three more magazine covers (even his nipple scored a cover this year!) and continued to remain mum about his mysterious upcoming acting debut. Still, meeting his dog Lily LaBoo was probably my favorite moment. Check out more of Seano, and see which models earned honorable mentions, after the jump.

Honorable Mention: Baptiste Giabiconi It takes a special guy to retain the attention of someone as self-obsessed as Uncle Karl. Baptiste has done so all year. Plus, he went full monty in Wallpaper, of all places.

Honorable Mention: Miguel Iglesias While he looks great in designer threads, this cover model looks even better undressed (oh, the irony!). He was a favorite at the shows in Milan this year and scored a bunch of editorial bookings in Europe. Oh, and there was that viral Puma Index video.

Honorable Mention: Jon Kortajarena He bared his butt for Tom Ford, was named Model of the Year by German GQ and beat Seano onto the Silver Screen in A Single Man

Honorable Mention: Luke Worrall A little bit Bel Ami and a little bit Billy Idol, cover boy Luke is the 21st century boy. And Kelly Osbourne's fiancé made drag a viable option for male models this year.
