Exclusive: When River met Kylie
After the latest post about model River Viiperi became the second highest viewed story of the week here on Gay.com Daily, it's clear that y'all are fond of the Spanish cutie. Quite fond. So, I'm anticipating another wave of excitement from revealing that River just worked with gay fave Kylie Minogue. It's true!
Late last month, the eighteen-year-old was flown from his home in Barcelona all the way to London and posed with the one and only Ms. Minogue for an upcoming cover of... (drum roll please)...Attitude magazine—the UK's premiere gay glossy.
I asked River if he was hand-picked by the pop pixie for the shoot. He said the models were cast first and then Kyle "had to confirm if she liked (us) or not." So River has the Green Fairy's seal of approval. Dreamy!
The cover boy was given only a few hours notice before leaving for the photo shoot, which is not unusual in the life of a world-class model (River says his plans change every day). During the process of packing, he researched the singer online and, according to his blog, found that there are "people (who) say she's not nice." But when it came time to go in front of the camera, the 6'2" hunk said Kylie was very friendly and came over to say hello to him and the other three male models.
Since he knew Kylie is dating model Andrés Velencoso Segura, River decided to have a go at chatting with her in Spanish. The Australian native graciously attempted to carry on the conversation, but was apologizing to River for what she called her "bad" Spanish-speaking skills; they eventually switched to English.
He had only great things to say about the session, which placed two models on each side of Kylie, making her "kinda like a goddess." River said he had lots of fun, and enjoyed the experience of having a shoot with a known singer. In response to the Internet allegations about Kylie not being nice, River emphatically disagrees. He described the former child actress as "happy, positive, and funny!"
Take that, haters!
Though he isn't positive about this, River thinks some of the photos from the session might also be used for the pop star's new album. Let's hope so. I can't wait to see 'em and I bet you guys can't either. And thanks again River, for sharing one of your adventures with us.
