Physical fitness is hard work. And staying motivated often means finding creative ways to keep an exercise routine fresh. One suggestion is to mix it up a bit by going back to a quieter, simpler time. Photographer San Sierra shows us how with some fitness tricks from a century ago.
Try riding an old-fashioned bicycle while pretending a mustache-twirling villain is chasing you. Or strengthen your torso on a trapeze while imagining you're part of a traveling circus. And exercise balls remain a timeless option.
Have fun. Wear costumes. Invite your friends. Because anyone can join a gym, but to really whip one's weight in wildcats, a bit of flair must be brought to the process.
