Eat This Cookie

The holidays can be rough for health-conscious queens or folks just trying to find a balance in their diets. Between office snacks, weekly parties, and every event seemingly bursting with sweet treats and savory eats it's no wonder why many Americans gain extra pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years.

Then we stumbled across the Titan High Protein Cookie, which claimed a "Fresh Baked Taste," low sugar, and 20 grams of protein per cookie. So how good was it?

What, you didn't read the headline and see our fabulous "cookie with a nude model" image creation?

Peanut-Butter-Foil We got to sample the peanut butter and oatmeal raisin varieties, both of which were delicious, chewy delights (there's a chocolate chip, but we have no idea how that one fares compared to the others). We didn't find a chemical after-taste, which is usually present when snacking on sports nutrition products; however, peanut butter is by far the tastier option.

As for the "Fresh Baked Taste" that's really a matter of opinion. When I bake cookies (don't judge) they're usually crisp on the bottom, softer on top, and a bit more decadent; I blame that on butter and big chocolate chunks. For the Titan cookies, I was immediately reminded of the texture found in those giant cookies you get from vending machines. A nice chewy treat but not really homemade, per se.

That said, they're really tasty, and at 150 calories per cookie with only 15 carbs (2g dietary fiber) and 5g fat, they're a perfect snack to have in your bag. Between running around with little time to eat, or looking for something to curb your cravings while everyone else in the office is feasting on fudge and sugar cookies, the Titan option is wonderful.
