Get His Attention

You’re out with your friends and having a great time, when you suddenly notice a hottie who instantly makes you swoon. You want to approach him, but you aren’t sure if he’s into you. Maybe you’re a little shy or have a hard time with the direct approach when it comes to meeting guys in a crowed place. Don’t worry, there are few things you can do to close in on your target and ensure that you’ve got his attention before you even say a word.

Make Eye Contact
Turning your gaze on someone doesn’t do much good if you only look away when he points his eyes in your direction. Making eye contact for a few seconds lets him know that you’re definitely interested and leaves no doubt that you like what you see. However, make sure that you don’t continually stare. Placing your peepers in park can make some guys uncomfortable, so it’s best to keep your eye encounters short and sweet.

Once you’ve made eye contact, flashing a smile is an absolute must! You’re smile is a powerful tool in the dating game.

It offers a boost of good energy, shows him you’re having a good time and will let him see how friendly you are. If he smiles back, you know you’ve got the clearance to move on to the next phase (and the fresh breath to back it up).

“I usually make eye contact and smile a few times before I ever approach a guy,” says Sean from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. “I’m a bit shy, so I can usually only keep it up for a second or two before I turn away, but I make sure he sees me before I do. Once I see him smile back a couple of times I know he’s interested and it makes it easier to introduce myself.”

Close In
Now you know you have his attention, and he seems to be as interested in you as you are in him. Some guys may approach you at this point, but don’t wait for him to make a move. Remember, even if you’re shy, he might be too and you don’t want to miss out on meeting a great guy because you couldn’t make a move. Once you get closer you’ll be able to read his body language. If he seems open and inviting, go for it. Introduce yourself, strike up a conversation, and keep that bright smile shining. By this point you will have already said more with your body than you could’ve said with 100 pick-up lines.
