Golden Iris Watch: Matthieu Charneau

Shortly after being named Mister Gay 2011 by the readers of Têtu magazine, Eye Candy readers chose Matthieu Charneau as June’s Candy Man of the Month. Both victories helped turn him into a gay blogosphere staple and digital pinup boy. But it was international tastemaker Nicola Formichetti’s casting of Charneau in the latest Mugler campaign that really put the 22-year-old French pupcake on the Golden Iris radar. And though he’s not a hairless bodybuilder or fitness trainer, Charneau’s naurally hairy swimmer’s build has people reconsidering what makes a physique model. That alone is notable.
