Lords South Beach Celebrates 1-Year Anniverary With Magnificent Party

Lords South Beach, the fabulous Miami-based gay boutique hotel, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a huge party on Thursday, December 29th; yes, you can attend.

Self-described “New York Dandy” Patrick McDonald (on the right, who you might recognize from Bravo TV's Launch My Line) is hosting the event. Helping him out is a special co-host committee that includes Veni Vidi Vici, Flavia, Tony Ferro, Erin Newberg, and Merle Weiss. There will be a performance by New York punk group Heloise and the Savoir Faire, and a special guest DJ set by the very popular Tracy Young. The evening starts at 9:00PM and like any good Miami party it's going to go long into the night.

Described by OUT magazine as “A chic St. Tropez fantasy,” Lords established itself as a cornerstone of South Beachʼs LGBT community early on. Popular queer performers like Amanda Lepore, Joey Arias, Richie Rich, Cazwell, and Ladyfag have all hosted high-profile events here and helped create a buzz around the property. This drew in the boys and girls, and that created more buzz and events. From glittery parties and drag performances to game nights and cabarets, as well as being close to all the South Beach gay bars, clubs, and infamous gay beach at 12th Street, Lords has been credited for playing a significant role in the resurgence of Miami's gay scene—so much so that The New York Times recently described it as Miami's "gay hub."

With a sexy, chic, and fun vibe, the property boasts three plunge pools, the Cha Cha Rooster Restaurant and Bar, numerous amenities and 54 rooms. In addition, there are five designated rooms for which 10% of the room sale proceeds are donated to charities that provide support for those in the LGBT community. During this first year that added up to more than $10,000 going to such organizations as Lambda Legal, The Point Foundation, and Care Resource.
