"Superheroes" on HBO Reveals Real-Life Queer Crime Fighter

The latest entry in the HBO summer documentary series is a film by Michael Barnett titled Superheroes.

The doc follows a number of real-life costumed crusaders who have made it their personal mission to keep their city streets crime free.

Among the group of crime-fighters is Zimmer Barnes, a gay man who patrols the streets of Brooklyn, NY.

Barnes can be seen in the doc keeping homophobes and would-be gay bashers at bay while employing his day job skills as an EMT to help accident victims.

The documentary, airs on HBO tonight at 9pm ET/PT.
