Twilight Creator Stephenie Meyer Reveals Saga’s Secret Gay Character

Take a deep breath, Twihards; no, it’s not Taylor Lautner’s Jacob, Kellan Lutz’s Emmett, or even Cam Gigandet’s James. In fact, it's only a non-speaking, blink-and-you'll-miss-him role.

Speaking about her brief cameo in Breaking Dawn—Part 1 as a guest at Edward and Bella’s wedding, Stephenie Meyer gives Entertainment Weekly a juicy quote not included in the new interview’s online teaser:

“I was sitting with [producer] Wyck Godfrey, who has also been there since day one, and we made up a backstory: He was a deputy policeman, and our marriage was on the rocks because he was in love with [Bella’s father] Charlie.”

You can spot the bearded, bespectacled Wyck wearing a blue suit to the left of Meyer in pink and above a bent-over Booboo Stewart in the screen grab above. Considering the grievous lack of LGBT representation in the Twilight franchise, we’ll take him!
