WATCH: Clueless LGBT Celebs Pluck Your Strings
Out filmmaker Paul Festa is about to blow your freakin' mind.
In his "highly original experiment in self-documentary," Tie It to My Hand, which enjoys its feature world premiere Sept. 21 at San Francisco's ODC Theater, Festa explores inspiration, the teacher-student relationship, and the mysteries of music as he takes a lesson on the Tchaikovsky violin concerto from a variety of artists. This colorful crew of private conductors includes LGBT and LGBT-adjacent celebrities such as Alan Cumming, photographer Austin Young, John Waters muse Mink Stole, Broadway actor Colman Domingo, avant-garde drag performance artist Fade-Dra, and — bear with me here — Matthew Martin and Birdie Bob Watt as Bette Davis and Anne Baxter as Margo Channing and Eve Harrington.
The catch? None of these people know how to play the violin.
