Madonna to Perform During Super Bowl XLVI

After two months of speculation, Deadline reports that Madonna will perform during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI on February 5.

The Material Girl’s set will be designed by the collaboration of a team from Cirque du Soleil, multimedia artists from Moment Factory, and creative director/choreographer Jamie King.

Deadline points out that the choice of Madonna for this year’s show follows the current trend of performers who fall within the adults 18-49 demographic. Past acts in this category have included Prince, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and U2.
