Is Mariah Carey’s New Single ‘Triumphant’?
With the flames of the 2012 Olympic fire still burning bright, Mariah Carey’s latest single, appropriately titled “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” has hit the web at a most opportune time.
After all, a song boasting lyrics such as “Reach for the stars” and “Be all that you are and make ‘em all fall down” sounds so much sweeter with the Olympic spirit in the air.
However, inspirational lyrics aside, we’re questioning the choice of this mid-tempo ballad with a dash of R&B as the lead single for her next album. While the diva’s vocals are in peak condition – especially on those signature high notes – the song lacks the punch of many Carey classics.
Thankfully, Rick Ross and Meek Mill, who are featured on the track, add a much-needed jolt of energy, but the song never feels like it gets off the ground. We’re praying a good remix (or five) are on the way to transform this snoozefest into a surefire hit.

Does “Triumphant” place Mimi back on top of the podium, or does she fail to qualify?
